- Intrauterine death

- Strenuous exercise for a long period of time
- Excessive activity in hot weather
- High fever resulting from a medical condition
- Prolonged exposure to hot water, such as in a bath or hot tub

- Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water has numerous benefits during pregnancy, but it also helps your body perspire when things heat up. Don’t wait until you’re outside or exercising to hydrate; up your fluid intake on a daily basis.
- Avoid long workout sessions, especially when it’s hot out.
- Limit exercise to 45-minutes at a time.
- Stick with low-impact exercises during your pregnancy. Now’s not the time to try HIIT workouts.
- Wear loose-fitting clothes, especially during exercise.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas and too-hot baths.
- Cut back on caffeine. Most women know too much caffeine is bad for the fetus, but it also increases blood pressure and raises body temperature.
- Eat soothing foods. Stay away from spicy foods and opt for foods like melons, berries, cucumbers and yogurt.
- Swim. Swimming is a great way to get your workout in without the risk of overheating. Not to mention, it feels amazing to a pregnant body.
